Cherly Baker launches 2013 calendar
BWBF patron Cheryl Baker has launched our first ever calendar.
Bucks Fizz singer and British Wireless for the Blind Fund patron Cheryl Baker has launched our first ever calendar.
She attended a private viewing event at the University of the Creative Arts in Rochester on Tuesday 8th May.
The calendar is the result of a collaborative project between the university and the charity.
BWBF has worked with five final year students from the photography department at the university to produce an attractive calendar which seeks to portray how visually impaired people use their other senses to enjoy the world around them.
Georgette Freed, Rebecca Hallett, Julia Kahila, Amanda King and Victoria Widdowson took up the challenge of using visual imagery to provide an insight into the sensational landscape of the blind and partially sighted.
Kent-based Cheryl said: “I think the collaboration between BWBF and UCA is absolutely fantastic.
“The senses for blind and partially sighted people are heightened and I think the students have done a brilliant job in trying to create images that you want to touch, taste, smell and listen to in their photographs.”
To purchase a calendar, please phone us on 01622 754757. They cost £7 which includes p&p.
