We're looking for someone to help us ensure that our life-changing audio equipment gets to people living with sight loss.
About British Wireless for the Blind Fund
At British Wireless for the Blind Fund, we believe access to audio can be life changing for someone living with sight loss. We give audio devices for free and for life to people living with sight loss in the greatest financial need. And our easy-to-use apps and skills unlock a world of audio content on the internet for people who might otherwise struggle to access it.
About the role
You'll be playing an important part in our charity, by preparing our audio equipment for distribution to people living with sight loss around the UK.
You'll be packing, labelling, moving boxes and supporting the distribution of equipment across the UK.
Time commitment
We can be flexible, but we’d ideally like you to commit to around four to eight hours per week.
About you
You will need to be fit, active, and able to lift and carry. A positive ‘can do’ approach, common sense and patience along with a sense of humour would be useful.
What you'll gain
- The chance to gain valuable experience within a national charity
- You’ll be providing support to people living with sight loss within your community
- Improved employment prospects
- We will reimburse your out of pocket expenses
Support you'll be given
- Induction
- Expenses
- Supervision and help from the Service Delivery Manager
- Training as appropriate
