Beth Friend

Trusts and Foundations Manager

Beth Friend joined British Wireless for the Blind Fund in 2025, bringing her strong experience in fundraising and strategy.

In her role as Trusts and Foundations Manager, Beth oversees income from charitable trusts - managing a pipeline of existing and prospective funders, researching new opportunities, writing applications, and ensuring excellent stewardship of grants. She plays a central part in sustaining and growing the support that helps BWBF deliver its vital work.

Beth brings a wealth of experience from across the charity sector, including roles with Shelter Scotland, Change Mental Health, and Groundwork London. Her previous career spanned corporate, e-commerce and education, including several years teaching English overseas in Thailand, South Korea, Myanmar and Poland.

Beth holds an MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh and has completed a Bid Writing Masterclass with fundraising expert Clive Goulden. Her key skills include writing, editing, budgeting, forecasting, and relationship-building - all of which she brings to BWBF with creativity and rigour.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys cinema, theatre, travel, cooking, creative writing, and browsing independent bookshops. She’s never far from a great story - whether on the page or in the world around her. What Beth values most about working at BWBF is the openness and sense of shared purpose.
