Head of Technology

David joined our charity in 2011 as a volunteer. Today, he leads our technology department.

With a background in IT and technology, David started his career as a project manager at Black Horse Financial Services. After his first daughter was born, David realised he was looking for a change of direction. He began volunteering with BWBF and, as he says, “there was something about it that made me stay.” 

David became the Agent Liaison Officer for the charity, a role that involved working with professionals and partners to help BWBF reach more people with sight loss. In 2019, David took over the technology department. During his time as Head of Technology, David has helped bring audio content to people living with sight loss via the charity’s Speech Radio and Speech Talking Newspaper apps. Today, he continues to lead new projects that harness technology to improve lives and shape BWBF services. 

David’s favourite part of working for BWBF is hearing how much joy and satisfaction people with sight loss get from the charity's services. 

He lives by the sea and enjoys long beach walks. He also loves keeping active in the gym.

Working for a charity really gives you a sense of purpose. The team spirit and dedication to the cause is amazing. But the people we support are what makes this job truly special. I’ve met so many people through BWBF whose outlook on life is so inspiring and infectious.
