Gerry Thorn
Vice Chair
Gerry joined our Board of Trustees in 2018, after a lifetime spent working in the world of radio and TV.
Gerry worked for Roberts Radio for more than 35 years, a career which saw him work his way up from the assembly line to Product Director. Over the years, he developed extensive commercial experience of developing and bringing consumer electronics products to the market. This experience has been instrumental in helping guide BWBF‘s strategy.
In recent years, Gerry has helped BWBF diversify its service from providing traditional adapted radios to delivering a broader range of audio solutions.
As well as his long career with Roberts Radio, Gerry is also experienced in the world of TV. For eight years, he worked in sound, lighting and cameras on Thames Television’s Morecambe and Wise show. He also worked on slow motion effects for ‘80s children’s programme Button Moon.
In his spare time Gerry is a keen motorcyclist and amateur photographer. He has recently developed a new passion for 3D printing.
