Assistant to the CEO

Lauren joined our charity in 2025. She has a specialism in governance and provides executive assistance to our CEO, Sophie.

Lauren has more than 15 years of experience in helping charitable organisations run smoothly and supporting compliance. Before BWBF she worked for a number of schools and Multi Academy Trusts throughout the West Midlands region.

Lauren loves being organised and now uses her skills and experience to assist our CEO, Sophie, with matters relating to governance, policy development and more. She is responsible for being our CEO’s right-hand person, providing support and thus enabling our CEO to focus on strategic matters.

Outside of work, Lauren spends time with her husband and is kept on her toes by her two amazing daughters and their scruffy mixed-breed terrier, Tilly. Lauren’s favourite family memories include discovering the Lakes, riding round Center Parcs and hunting for crabs in rock pools in Wales. When the weather is less forgiving, Lauren loves TV, a good movie, or an absorbing book.

I’ve been searching for some time for a role which would bring me personal fulfilment. I want to feel that I’m making a difference rather than just ticking boxes. I'm inspired by my mother-in-law’s dad, who was born blind and achieved so much. As a schoolboy he learnt to play five instruments. Having discovered a natural talent for music, he taught himself to play the flute and became a very successful jazz musician. It’s a shame I never got to meet him as I am assured he was a very interesting person!
