Sophie Jones

Chief Executive Officer

Sophie became the CEO in March 2024. Before becoming our CEO, Sophie led the charity's service delivery team.

During her time with the charity, Sophie has managed BWBF’s services through changes in technology and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She is passionate about the power of volunteering and built a strong support network of volunteers, helping the charity extend its support to more people.

Since becoming CEO, Sophie has launched a new transformation strategy for BWBF. Under this strategy, BWBF will undertake in-depth research into the needs of people with sight loss. The research will underpin a new service offer and brand that reflects what people living with sight loss truly want and need from us today.

After many years working closely with people living with sight loss, Sophie is dedicated to giving people the tools they need to stay connected, maintain their independence, and improve their quality of life.

Before joining BWBF, Sophie worked in sales and event management. She is also a qualified counsellor, with a focus on supporting young people.

Outside of work, Sophie is a busy single mum to her 11-year-old son, Charlie, and her eight-year-old son, Louis. She also has four cats and a dog. In her spare time, she enjoys vintage shopping, walking, reading, and eating. Sophie is also a proud collector of Elvis memorabilia - because, as she says, “who doesn’t need a little ‘King’ in their life?”
