Steven Poole

Service Delivery Manager

Steven joined our charity in 2009, bringing a lifetime of experience in supporting people with sight loss.

When Steven was just 10, his father lost his sight due to Diabetic Retinopathy. Steven taught him how to use a computer using adaptive technology.

Later, Steven earned a degree in Social and Environmental Sciences and began working as an IT teacher for people with sight loss at a rehabilitation centre. He then became a qualified Rehabilitation Officer for people with Visual Impairment (ROVI) and manager of the Christopher Grange Rehabilitation Centre for People Living with Sight Loss.

Steven joined BWBF as the Regional Development Manager for the North West of England, but his role quickly grew to include more of the UK. Today, he manages the service delivery strategy for the whole country.

Outside of work, Steven enjoys playing guitar, bass, and drums. He is a Liverpool FC fan, even though he recently relocated to the wilds of Scotland. He also likes walking, reading, and photography.
