App support from VOID software

We’re improving our apps, while saving thousands of pounds, thanks to a new partnership with software specialists VOID.

The arrangement has seen the Portugal-based technology company give its’ time for free to help ensure our apps are delivering a better experience for people living with sight loss.

Our Speech Radio app unlocks more than 70,000 radio stations via a sight-loss friendly interface. Meanwhile, our Talking Newspaper app and Alexa Skill to unlock audio versions of hundreds of local newspapers.

The partnership began when we reached out to tech companies for support. Having been exploring a new corporate social responsibility strategy, the team at VOID saw it as the perfect opportunity to contribute. The bro-bono arrangement has saved thousands of pounds in annual maintenance costs.

Since we launched the partnership in November 2024, VOID have completed essential maintenance and comprehensive upgrades to both apps. They have also streamlined the app sign up process, making it easier for people living with sight loss to get straight to the content. The experienced team of software specialists has also eliminated glitches, creating a more stable and user-friendly experience.

Having easy access to audio can be life-changing for people living with sight loss. That’s why this relationship means the world to us and our app users. With VOID’s support we can give the best experience to our users so that they can concentrate on enjoying their listening experience.
