Mourning Queen Elizabeth II: A statement from our Chief Executive

As the public marks the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) is joining the nation in taking pause to reflect and pay tribute to our late Queen.

A statement from our Chief Executive, Margaret Grainger:

“British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) today joins the nation in mourning the passing of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s funeral is a chance to reflect and grieve our shared loss, and to pay tribute to the honesty, commitment, and steadfastness she showed us throughout her reign. The thoughts of the whole team at BWBF remain with the Royal Family at this time.

“It is right that the nation should take this day as a chance to pause, so that we can all reflect and grieve in whatever way suits us best. As a tribute to our late Queen and to ensure our team can join the nation in mourning, BWBF’s offices will be closed throughout this Bank Holiday Monday. Our normal services for people living with sight loss will resume on Tuesday. We wish you and all those you hold dear well on this challenging occasion.”
