Peter McDonagh

We are very sad to share the news that our former Chairman, Mr Peter McDonagh, has passed away.

Peter, an Oxford Graduate, rose to the position of Director of Broadcasting at BFBS Radio before turning his attention to the provision of radio equipment to blind people in need by becoming our Chairman.

Peter was an inspiration to many, his passion for life, relentless enthusiasm and his “glass half full” optimism carried the Fund through some difficult times. It is down to his leadership and commitment that the Fund is where it is today and we are still able to provide the essential service that so many blind and partially sighted people benefit from.

A brilliant broadcaster and entertainer, anyone who met him will have been touched by his zest for life. A light has, indeed, gone out.

He will be greatly missed.
