Leave a gift in your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will is a special way to support a cause that you care about. With your help, our support and vital services will be there for future generations of people living with sight loss.

The number of registered sight impaired and severely sight impaired people is predicted to double to more than 4 million by 2050. We are planning now, innovating new technologies and looking ahead so we can meet increased demand.

We are a national charity, supporting people across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are the only charity in the UK dedicated to unlocking audio content for people living with sight loss. As we do not receive any government funding we rely on the generosity of our wonderful supporters who help us to help thousands of people living with sight loss each year.

Our mission

We believe access to audio entertainment and information can be life-changing for someone living with sight loss. Our audio devices and easy-to-use apps open a world of audio content on the internet for people who might otherwise struggle to access it.

Sight loss shouldn't be a barrier to the experiences most people take for granted. Too many people living with sight loss still face loneliness and social exclusion. We keep people connected with their communities, their passions and the wider world.

We are determined to do more to unlock a world of audio.

How to leave a gift in your Will

Having a Will means you can help the people and causes that are closest to your heart. At BWBF we understand that ensuring your loved ones are taken care of must come first. A gift in your Will, no matter the size, will enable us to provide future generations with hours of enjoyment.

Types of gifts:

  • a share of your estate (residuary bequest)
  • a cash gift (pecuniary bequest)
  • a specific item

Gifts to charities in your Will are tax free. If the value of your estate exceeds the tax threshold you could reduce the amount of inheritance tax you pay.
