Home Based Telephone Support Volunteer (Technical Support)
Would you like to use your people skills to make a difference to isolated, visually impaired people? We are looking for a patient and caring person to provide over the phone technical support to our recipients.
What does this role involve?
- Calling our recipients on the phone to ensure that they have received their equipment and have managed to set it up etc.
- Asking questions to ascertain if the equipment is suitable for them
- Providing technical support to help them solve any problems they may have
- Updating our database and informing the team if the recipient requires further support
How much time will I need to commit?
We would ask you to support us for a minimum of 4 hours per week. This is completely flexible and can be arranged so that it fits in around your existing commitments.
What kind of person are you looking for?
We are looking for reliable, patient people, preferably technically minded but not essential as our devices are easy to use! You will need access to a computer and have an internet connection. Experience of Excel and databases would be beneficial.
What are the benefits for me?
If you are looking to gain telephone and support experience, then this is the role for you! We offer support and guidance to help you develop and broaden your skills.
Not only that, but you will also be making a difference. You’ll be giving invaluable support to a small charity that aims to reduce isolation for people living with sight loss.
We offer supportive supervision and reimburse all expenses.
