Shark dive to support BWBF
A trio of brave supporters have done a shark dive to raise money for us.
Three brave fundraisers have done a shark dive to raise money for British Wireless for the Blind Fund.
Speaking after the dive, Janet, Brooke and Victoria all agreed although extremely scary, it was a wonderful experience.
It took place in a 3.8 million litre Caribbean reef tank at an aquarium in Chester.
They said having the opportunity to be that close to a 3m sand tiger shark as well as stingrays, lemon, guitar sharks and zebra sharks was quite surreal.
The sharks were very inquisitive from the moment the fundraisers entered the water and they said they were assured by the instructors that as long as they followed the training provided they would be perfectly safe.
They said having a shark swim within reaching distance was very intimidating although very calming once the initial panic had subsided.
They raised more than £500 for BWBF.
