We’re delighted to announce that British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) will be welcoming three new Trustees this June.

Our newest Trustees will join our passionate and experienced Board to help to guide and steer our charity as we develop our richest-ever services and launch a new brand and name to carry us confidently into the future.

Alicia Coghlan is a Marketing Director at UK holiday company Cove UK and comes to her position with significant experience leading strategy, communications and growth for consumer brands. She has led brand repositioning projects, large-scale campaigns and audience growth strategies, always with a focus on connecting meaningfully and delivering real impact. Outside of work, Alicia is a mum to a teenage son who was born blind due to Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (CRB1).

Alex Froom has worked building digital consumer products for more than two decades, including leading the travel alert service Journey Alerts. He has driven digital strategies and software builds for brands and initiatives including the London 2012 Olympics. He has also designed and managed research and development programmes in accessible tech, including partnerships with Meta, Uber, Google and Amazon.

John Biggs is a senior business leader with more than 45 years of experience across private and public sectors. Post-retirement, he has focused exclusively on board and non-executive roles, previously serving as Chair of the Hospice Lottery Partnership and New Leaf Support, also as Non Executive at IOSH Services Ltd. He currently mentors’ charity leaders through Charity Mentors Kent and Medway.

Alicia, Alex and John join a dedicated Board at an exciting time of transformation for our small charity.

Welcoming our newest Trustees, Sophie Jones, Chief Executive, said:

We are delighted to find such experienced and passionate new Trustees who can bring so much to our incredible Board. Their talent, experience and enthusiasm for what we do is just brilliant.

Our small charity is on the cusp of a big transformation. Over the coming months we will launch new, richer, people-led services, and a brand that truly conveys the magic of what we do. We are so incredibly grateful to both our new and existing Trustees for their giving up their time to work alongside us and ensure our transformation truly does our community, founders and supporters proud.
