We are on the search for volunteers to help us make audio accessible for people living with sight loss.
We're looking for people to help us send audio devices out to people across the UK. We're also looking for people to provide telephone support to people who might need help using their audio device.
At British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF), we give easy-to-use audio devices for free to people with sight loss in the greatest financial need, providing connection, companionship and comfort to thousands across the UK. Volunteering with us is an opportunity to help unlock a world of audio content for people living with sight loss.
We are looking to fill two volunteer roles.
Service delivery volunteer
The first role is based at our distribution hub in Oban, on Scotland's west coast. We're looking for two people who can commit to a few hours' volunteering each week. The role, which involves lifting and handling of equipment, will is a chance to play a key part in our effort to get audio devices to people living with sight loss across the UK.
Telephone support volunteer
The second role is a home-based role focussed on giving one-to-one telephone support to people who need help using their BWBF audio device. Volunteers in this role will call BWBF's recipients to ensure their audio device has arrived and that they are happy using it.
Easy access to audio keeps people living with sight loss connected with their passions, their communities and their loved ones. Volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and these roles are a great way to support people across the UK. If you have some spare time and you want to use it in a meaningful and life-changing way, we’d love to hear from you.
