Telephone Advisor Volunteer

Would you like to use your interpersonal skills to help make a difference to isolated, visually impaired people? We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support our team to help people living with sight loss to access our services.  This is a flexible role that can fit in around your existing commitments.  It is based from your home, with plenty of support from us.

What does this role involve?

  • Telephoning our clients and asking them questions to ascertain how we can help them.
  • Offering advice on which one of our products they should receive (it is all free of charge – no selling!)
  • Inputting their information onto the database (full training will be provided)

How much time will I need to commit?

We would ask you to support us for a minimum of 4 hours per week.  This is completely flexible and can be arranged so that it fits in around your existing commitments.

What are the benefits for me?

If you are looking to gain social care, or mentoring experience, then this is the role for you!  We offer support and guidance to help you develop and broaden your skills.

Not only that, but you will be making a difference.  You’ll be giving invaluable support to a small charity that aims to reduce isolation for people living with sight loss.   You will be offering blind and partially sighted people a lifeline to a new world of audio.

We offer supportive supervision and reimburse all expenses.
