BWBF would like to say thank you George Fentham Charitable Trust which has recently provided a grant of £1,965 to help pay for the provision of our Concerto 2 radios to blind people in Birmingham.

The grant will pay not only for the radios, but also the accompanying volunteer visit, where one of our trained volunteers will deliver the radio to the recipient’s home and provide one-to-one instruction on how to use it.

Regional Development Manager for Birmingham, Sophie Jones, said: “This grant is an amazing boost for the BWBF service in Birmingham.

“Our Concerto 2 radios play digital radio, memory sticks, cassettes, CDs and much more so they are of huge benefit to the person who receives it.”

BWBF volunteers deliver our specially adapted radios to blind people’s homes.

They set them up and provide one-to-one instruction, ensurin the blind person will go on to use the radio fully and independently, allowing them to access radio, CDs, tapes, audiobooks, talking newspapers and much more.
