Supermarket giant supports leading blind charity with life changing donation.

Blind and visually impaired people living in Formby, Merseyside will soon benefit from the generosity of the local community through the Waitrose Community Matters token scheme.

By placing a token in the Community Matters box at your local branch you’re helping your community. Since its launch in 2008, the scheme has donated over £30 million to good causes in store and online.

At the end of your shop in branch, you’ll receive a token to place in a box of the good cause you’d most like to support. The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive.

British Wireless Regional Development Manager Steven Poole said; “The scheme is a vital fundraising tool for a charity like British Wireless.”

” We aren’t in receipt of any government funding, so it is only through the generous donations form the public and through schemes like this, that we are able to continue to give the personal face to face service to the local communities that maybe some of the bigger charities are unable to do.”
