Technology Support Volunteer

What does this role involve?

  • Internet-based research finding new content
  • Finding and updating internet streams to develop our existing service
  • Working with Alexa and Google smart speakers

We will provide you with training and guidance. You do not need to be an expert, just the ability to know your way around a computer, the internet and have a willingness to learn.

How much time will I need to commit?

We would ask you to support us for a minimum of 4 hours per week.  This is completely flexible and can be arranged so that it fits in around your existing commitments.

What kind of person are you looking for?

We are looking for a reliable person with sound, basic technological knowledge,  as well as the ability to use the internet for research.  You will need access to a computer and have an internet connection.

What are the benefits for me?

Ever wondered how audio streaming works?  You will get an insight into how online radio and audio is provided.

You can gain many new skills and learn how the Alexa and Google development area works.

Not only that, but you will be making a difference.  You’ll be giving invaluable support to a small charity that aims to reduce isolation for people living with sight loss.

We offer supportive supervision and reimburse all expenses.
