University of Greenwich collaborative working
BWBF is working in collaboration with the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Greenwich.
British Wireless for the Blind Fund is working in collaboration with a university to investigate new sources of relevant information.
We have teamed up with the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Greenwich to conduct questionnaire research with set recipients and bid for funding to carry out a needs analysis across London.
We frequently receive very encouraging feedback and positive comments from users of our sets which we use to good effect in our publicity and when applying for funding.
However, we know that hard facts and figures and social research findings can also help to make the case and evidence the need for our sets and services.
With this in mind, we approached the Head of the Social Work and Health Development Department at the University of Greenwich to see whether working in partnership could provide useful information for both parties.
Over the last couple of months we have agreed what needs doing and made a start with conducting questionnaire research with our existing set users.
This information, together with the findings from the other pieces of work, will be used to help us to provide a better service in the future.
It should also help ensure that information about the charity and how it can help visually impaired people’s listening needs is disseminated effectively to the organisations and health service providers which signpost services and equipment for the visually disabled.
