Two grants will benefit Scotland

BWBF has received two grants from different organisations which will benefit visually impaired people in Scotland.

The Crerar Trust has donated £3,150 to BWBF Waitrose partner Slava Yakupov presents a cheque

Visually impaired people in Scotland will benefit from two grants which British Wireless has just received.

The Crerar Trust has donated £3,150 for replacement equipment across the country.

BWBF’s Regional Development Manager for the north, Steven Poole, visited the Oban Bay Hotel in Oban to collect a cheque from General Manager David McGhie.

While we don’t upgrade people’s radios, we will sometimes replace outdated equipment if they have had it for a long time.

We have also received a grant from the Waitrose Community Matters scheme.

Mr Poole was presented with a cheque for £370 from Waitrose Partner Slava Yakupov at the company’s store in Byres Road, Glasgow.

That donation will also be used to replace equipment.

Mr Poole said: “We are so grateful to both The Crerar Trust and Waitrose for these generous grants.

“As a charity which receives no government funding, we rely on donations like this from trusts.

“This money will make a real difference to visually impaired people in Scotland.

“The importance of a radio to someone who has lost their sight cannot be underestimated.”
