Lions club funds specially modified radio for VIP

Middlesbrough Teesside Lions Club has funded a BWBF radio for a man with an eye disease.

A man with a degenerative eye disease has received a British Wireless for the Blind Fund radio thanks to a lions club.

Middlesbrough Teesside Lions Club has paid for the set for Steven, who is from Middlesbrough.

The 33-year-old was diagnosed with the condition retintis pigmentosa when he was a teenager.

He is currently studying and undertaking a computer course at Teesside Society for the Blind and is also learning to read Braille.

Steven has been given a Concerto 2, which is the most popular set distributed by BWBF.

It allows the user to listen to talking books, radio stations and even listen to music downloaded from a computer onto a USB pen drive.

Steven would like to thank the lions club for the kind donation.

He said he finds the radio very easy to use and that it helps him keep in touch with the world.
