New radio community hospital

Crerar Hotels Trust

A radio has been given to Seaton Community Hospital to help visually impaired patients during their stay thanks to the Seaton and District Lions Club.

The Seaton and District Lions Club has presented a BWBF radio to Seaton Community Hospital.

The set will be used by its visually impaired patients during their stay.

Members of the club made the donation as part of BWBF’s hospital radio project.

Existing hospital bedside entertainment systems often rely on the patient being able to see and select options from a flat touch screen.

Our radios are specially adapted to meet the needs of the people who will be using them.

They are custom built with contrasting colour controls and raised Braille markings.

Radio offers a constant and vital link to the outside world for the visually impaired.

It offers news and debate, sport, drama and music include a cassette recorder or CD player which allow people to listen to talking newspapers, books and newsletters.
