Partnership unlocks tech for young people with sight loss
British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with VICTA, a national charity that is dedicated to empowering children and young people with sight loss. The partnership will provide accessible technology to children and young people living with sight loss across the UK.
This collaborative initiative will see BWBF providing cutting-edge devices to support young people with sight loss in their daily lives, education, and social development. The technology offering includes Alexa smart speakers for voice-controlled access to information and entertainment, Voxblock players for accessible audio content and educational materials, and Morphée sleep aids to support healthy sleep patterns and relaxation.
Sophie Jones, Chief Executive at British Wireless for the Blind Fund, said:
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with VICTA to provide accessible technology to children and young people with sight loss. Through this collaboration, we will be making available essential devices that will help blind and partially sighted young people and children to learn, play, and connect with others more independently. At British Wireless for the Blind Fund, we believe that every child deserves access to technology that can enhance their daily lives, and this partnership with VICTA helps us deliver on that commitment.”
This initiative represents a significant step forward in ensuring that blind and partially sighted children and young people have access to the tools they need to thrive in both educational and social settings. The partnership will focus on making these devices available through VICTA’s established networks and support systems.
